Rio de Janeiro and Paraty have a tropical climate. The driest season, with milder temperatures, runs from May to September: ideal for city tours, walking, and photography in the historic center. Summer (December to March) is hotter with brief showers, perfect for enjoying beaches and islands with warm waters; it's peak season due to Réveillon (New Year's Eve) and Carnival, so it's advisable to book in advance. Spring and autumn offer a good balance of weather and prices. Travel recommendations: sunscreen, a hat, insect repellent, and comfortable shoes; in summer, add a lightweight raincoat. Check the forecast before boat trips to optimize your sightseeing experience.
Conditions may vary depending on the date and package price. Generally, cancellation is free up to a certain period before the start of the trip; after that deadline, partial or full charges may apply. Date and hotel changes are subject to availability and possible fare differences. More restrictive policies usually apply during holidays, Carnival, New Year's Eve, or events (e.g., Rock in Rio). If weather prevents activities such as schooner trips, it is common to reschedule or offer a partial refund for the affected service. We recommend adding travel insurance with cancellation coverage. Always review the official Terms and Conditions when confirming your booking.
