Tour Description
Your adventure begins with a hotel pick-up, paving the way for a scenic journey to the port district. We make our initial halt at the illustrious Olympic Boulevard in Rio de Janeiro, a hub of artistic and cultural activities that came to life during the city's rejuvenation for the 2016 Olympic Games.
Our exploration kicks off with the Etnias mural, a masterpiece by Eduardo Kobra. This majestic graffiti artwork, the largest in the world, covers an expansive area of 2,500 square meters. Its vibrant and colorful depiction of the world's indigenous peoples has made it a must-visit landmark in Rio.
The boulevard is also home to renowned attractions like the Museum of Tomorrow and Mauá Square, a historic site that encapsulates the fusion of Rio's past and present.
Experience AquaRio, Rio de Janeiro's Fascinating Marine Life Showcase
Post the boulevard exploration, we venture into AquaRio, South America's largest aquarium. Housed in a repurposed cold-storage warehouse, AquaRio hosts over 8,000 marine creatures belonging to 350 species. Here, you can feast your eyes on sharks, rays, tropical fish, corals and more.
Your AquaRio journey commences at the Oceanic Tank, the aquarium's largest exhibit. It contains a staggering 3.3 million liters of water and extends to a depth of seven meters. The enormous acrylic panels offer stunning views of marine life, giving you an intimate glimpse of the underwater world.
One of the key highlights is the glass tunnel, which lets you experience the thrill of walking "underwater" as marine creatures swim around and above you. This immersive structure brings the ocean to life and offers perfect photo opportunities.
But AquaRio isn't just a spectacle; it's a hub dedicated to marine conservation and education. A part of the ticket proceeds goes towards supporting marine biology research and sustainability initiatives in Brazil. The exhibits offer an enlightening perspective on the importance of ocean preservation, making your visit both enjoyable and educational.
Although photography is allowed in AquaRio, the use of flash must be avoided to ensure the well-being of the animals.
Post your AquaRio visit, the tour wraps up with a comfortable ride back to your hotel.
